The situation
Zafrani Cafe had a genuine differentiator — a saffron tea concept in a market saturated with generic cafes — and ambitions beyond a single location. That combination changes what the website has to do.
A normal cafe website serves customers: menu, location, hours. A cafe planning to franchise serves two audiences at once, and the second one — potential franchise partners — is evaluating whether this is a business worth investing in. Those audiences want opposite things from the same page.
What we did
Brand identity
A complete identity built to travel. A brand intended for franchise expansion has to work in locations we will never see, applied by people we will never meet — which means the system needs to be tight enough that a franchisee cannot easily get it wrong. Guidelines matter more here than in almost any other category.
Menu-forward website
For F&B, the menu is the product page. Most restaurant sites bury it behind a PDF download, which fails on mobile — where nearly all of the traffic is. We built it as a proper page: fast, readable on a phone, and indexable by Google, which matters because people search for dishes.
Franchise inquiry flow
A separate path for franchise enquiries, structured so a potential partner finds the commercial case rather than a customer menu. Different questions, different content, different call to action — the site handles both without either audience getting the wrong version.
SEO and social
Local SEO so nearby customers find the cafe, and social media management — because for F&B in Dubai, Instagram is where the decision to visit is actually made. Our guide to social media for Dubai restaurants covers the approach we use for this category.
The decision that shaped the project
We built for the franchise ambition from day one rather than building a single-location site and retrofitting later. Retrofitting is always more expensive — the brand has to be rebuilt to be transferable, and the site restructured to serve a second audience. Designing for where the business is going costs marginally more at the start and saves the entire rebuild.
Judge it yourself
Open zafranicafe.com on your phone and try to find the menu. That is the test every restaurant site should pass and most fail.
